Izzaddin, 58, (file pic) was previously the telecommunications group’s deputy chief executive officer, a position he assumed on Jan 24,2020 PETALING JAYA: Axiata Group Bhd has redesignated Datuk Mohd Izzaddin Idris as group chief executive officer effective today to replace Tan Sri Jamaluddin Ibrahim who retired from the position yesterday. Izzaddin, 58, was previously the telecommunications group’s deputy chief executive officer, a position he assumed on Jan 24,2020. Jamaluddin, 61, (pic below) had been at the helm of the telecommunications group since its inception in 2008. He was also the chairman of Celcom Axiata Bhd until October 2020 and a board member of PT XL Axiata Tbk. In its filing with Bursa Malaysia, Axiata said Izzaddin joined the board of Axiata in November 2016 as a non-independent non-executive director and was redesignated as independent non-executive director in March 2019. Prior to joining Axiata, Izzaddin was the group managing director/CEO of UEM Group Bhd, a position he held since July 2009 until his departure in October 2018.
